GENERALIST PROGRAMMER

We're hiring a programmer to help us on Circuit Superstars and future projects!

In the short term, this role could include helping with new game modes, working on our Nintendo Switch port, and improving existing features and tools.

In the long term, this means helping us with post-launch support for Circuit Superstars and working on our future games.

We're a small team and place an emphasis on kindness and curiosity within the studio. We're looking for someone with a collaborative spirit, insightful communication skills, and a passion for games. Our programming team works with artists and designers to create the effective, versatile systems which make Circuit Superstars possible.

Circuit Superstars is built with Unity and our codebase is primarily C#. Experience working with both is a plus.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with Unity.

  • Has 2+ years of experience as a software engineer in a game development team.

  • Is a self starter, curious, driven, collaborative, and kind.

  • Brings an analytical and open perspective to technical conversations.

  • Is willing and able to hold space for multiple perspectives, and contributes to guiding conversations towards the best solutions.

  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Loves games and game development.

We'll be extra impressed if you either:

  • Have experience or interest in developing racing games.

  • Have experience developing your own games.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada, or currently in Canada on a work permit/visa. This is a remote position: we are currently working remotely and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Our team goals are aligned with the games we make: we believe work should bring us satisfaction and opportunities for growth and self-expression. We believe in self-managing teams empowered with trust and autonomy. As a team member at Original Fire Games, you will be part of strategizing, planning and executing the development of the game. More importantly, you will be part of a team in which people care about and support each other.
